In going through my photo archives I came across this high quality group photograph of 6 Squadron Royal Flying Corps personnel sent to me by David Weekes ten years ago. Taken some time after June 1917 when Major Archibald James became the officer commanding 6 Squadron (he is in the photo seated to the right of centre clasping his baton with both hands) it shows most of the squadron pilots, eight of the sergeants and some of the observers. Note the number of officers still wearing their British Army uniforms and the fact that four dogs were included in the portrait.
