I have just started the writing process of my latest book, 'The Bootmaker's Daughter - Maid of Kent'. It is a non-fiction account of my grandmother Ethel Edith Pocock who grew up in Rochester, England. Born in 1881, she experienced a turbulent life in both the Victorian and Edwardian era, with the book covering the first forty years of her life. As part of the extensive research process I have just discovered that the building which used to be the studio of James John Eastmead (see attached studio photograph of my great-grandparents Henry Charles and Eliza Harriet Pocock) still exists in Rochester. The address under the old numbering system was 96 Eastgate but it is now 171 High Street, Rochester. See also my post on Charles Dickens Cricket Song.
